Suki is an innovative Asian fusion cuisine located in the Desire Pearl Resort in the Riviera Maya. From the moment you step through the door, you’ll embark on a luxurious journey of exquisite dishes. They go from the enthralling flavours of the warm region of Thailand, all the way to the intrinsicate delicacies of the enigmatic lands of Japan, amongst a great variety of other original creations from the chef.

The challenge for Topiqa was to create a dual space that works as a sales room during the day and a modern and sensuous Oriental fusion cuisine restaurant at night. The materials employed for the design were marble, wood and granite, all the elements brought together by the golden color used in the lush aluminum curtains, the lamps and the base of the chairs. The carpet blends in with bar section, combining black and gray tones that evoque those of the magnificent Mount Fiji; copper used for the decorative lamps inspired by the red sun of the East; and the sound-proof ceiling mimicking the Japanese tatami. This harmonious and cozy space is ideal for an elegant and sensual dinner date.

The columns are covered with black mosaics made out of recycled glass, the combination of their varying matte and glossy finishes creates interesting highlights that change with the passing hours. The restaurant accommodates a bar with an opulent counter made out of black marble and Copacabana granite; the countertop has a grand mirror visually fragmented by latticework made out of tzalam wood, with a thick black lacquered frame.

The circular tables are covered by tempered glass and accompanied by the exclusive golden and black design of the chairs. They entice the visitors into gathering and spending time under the sumptuous atmosphere.

The distribution of the furniture was set to fit the space, providing a comfortable flow for both the customers and the staff. Additionally, the bathrooms were built outside the restaurant, to facilitate their use in accordance to the area being adjacent to the pool section.
